OLDE ENGLISH BULLDOGGES- THESE ARE NOT ENGLISH BULLDOGS BUT RATHER A BETTER ALTERNATIVE BULLDOG.
Over 20 years ago we brought the very first two English Bulldogs (EB) into our home. We loved the breed for its temperament, loyalty and of course that bully look, but there were just some qualities our EB did not have that we were wanting. We wanted the qualities we liked (personality / temperament, look, size), but we also wanted our dogs to be able to run and play with children, tolerate the climate here in Florida and be free of some of the health issues known to plague the EB. Tolerance to activity and climate, healthy - could that be possible? We had these objectives in mind when we discovered the Olde English Bulldogge and have been in love with them ever since.
This outstanding breed gives us the bully look, temperament, loyal companion along with the climate and activity tolerance while still being a size that is compatible with living indoors with the family - All we were looking for in one package. Unlike the English Bulldog, Olde English Bulldogges breathe better, are healthly, athletic, and do not require artificial insemination (AI) and C-section to reproduce.
We consider these the BETTER ALTERNATIVE BULLDOG. Warning- it is hard to stop at just one and after getting your first you will want another one.
We have a puppy play-yard fenced off for the youngsters that they can access through a doggie door from the house and our teenagers and adults have plenty of room to romp and play on our 4 acres, but we do not have kennels as our bulldogges are part of the family and they live with us inside our home (yes, all of them) and are part of daily family activities.
In our breeding program we put emphasis on health, temperament, agility, and maintaining the breed standard. Although Olde English Bulldogges are very loyal and protective, we are not breeding for high prey-drive attributes, so if you are looking for an aggressive guard dog, our dogs will not fill that need. However, if you are looking for a healthy, free-breathing bulldogge that can run and play and will love you like only a bully can, we have the dog for you.
